Jerry Steinley has been named Executive Director of the Humane Society of the Black Hills in Rapid City. Steinley has served as Resource Development Director at the humane society since June 2017.
“I see a great future for the humane society and I’m thankful the board of directors has entrusted me with this challenging new role,” Steinley said.
Steinley said that while continuing to provide humane animal care and valuable services that benefit Rapid City and surrounding communities, the Humane Society of the Black Hills will also focus on developing outreach and education, expanding partnerships with the business community, and maintaining current services for more than 5,000 animals that come through the doors each year.
“We’re fortunate to have an incredibly supportive community, an outstanding board of directors, and committed, caring employees at the humane society and that will be key to our plans as we move forward,” Steinley said.
Steinley replaces Jacque Harvey who served as Executive Director of the Humane Society of the Black Hills for the past 8 and a half years before accepting a new position at a Nebraska humane society.
